Holiday Event

2024 Toy Drive

In the spirit of the holidays, I am reaching out to see if you would be willing to adopt a family for our 15th Annual HSLQ Toy Drive. All of the children in our drive are living below the poverty line, where the parents have a combined income of less than $31,200 a year, usually supporting a family of four. Typically the parents cannot afford to purchase gifts around the holidays so we try to make this event special for the entire family.

If you are interested in becoming a donor, we kindly ask that you spend at least $75 on each child as your gifts may be the only ones received by these special children. As we already have over 180 children on our list, kindly indicate how many children you would like to “adopt” and I will send you a wish list. The date of the toy drive will be December 22nd, therefore we are asking our donors to drop off the week of December 9th-13th, between the hours of 9am to 5pm to:

***DROP OFF LOCATION CHANGE***

Palacios Law Group/HSLQ Headquarters

1399 New York Avenue, Huntington Station

Kindly wrap and label all bags with the family number, child’s name, gender and age to minimize any confusion. Please try to include gift receipts whenever possible (especially with clothing). If you are unable to deliver the presents by Friday, December 13th, please contact me so we can arrange a time to meet.

If you are interested, please indicate how many children you wish to “adopt” and I will send you a wish list! Please also indicate if you wish to purchase a bicycle as we have several requests for them this year. The Huntington Girls Lacrosse team has volunteered to assemble any bicycles in advance of the drive.

Happy Holidays!!

Laura Palacios

Annual Toy Drive
Once Friends of HSLQ gathers information, a list is created which is distributed to Friends and members who in turn purchase gifts for these deserving families. Over the years, Friends of HSLQ has collected hundreds of gifts which have been donated to hundreds of families. Children received toys, books, board games, coats, clothing and most importantly love and thoughtfulness from many members of the Huntington Station community.
